urban scavenging

While biking to the library this week, I spotted these two plant stands left on the side of the road. Sturdy, but very weathered with big chunks of paint flaking off (and the green paint on the small one was hideous). I have tons of plants on my windowsills, so these were such a find! I used a bungee cord to strap them to my bike and brought them home...

After some scraping and painting, they are tucked happily away in a sunny spot in my living room, holding pots where tiny chamomile seeds are beginning to sprout!

The paint is "Lagoon" in satin finish by Rustoleum (indoor & outdoor paint).

Love the image of you riding home on your bike with these strapped on! They make lovely plant pots.

It is difficult to believe that they are the same objects: what a transformation, beautiful colour, well done!
